PALCO was founded in 1986 in Huntsville, Alabama, when GTE Corporation (now part of Verizon) divested its telephone repair, refurbishment, and payphone manufacturing businesses.
During this period, PALCO specialized in repairing and refurbishing telecommunications equipment such as business key systems, central office equipment, and related electronic business telephone equipment.
During the early 2000s, PALCO was one of the leading cellular phone returns management and repair organizations in the world. In 2004, the company acquired Teranetix, the sustaining engineering, logistics, and repair division of Fortune 500 company Intergraph Corporation (now Hexagon). This marked a shift in PALCO’s focus to servicing more complex technology such as carrier grade telecom equipment and networking equipment.
PALCO has spent the last decade becoming a truly global organization. In 2010, PALCO opened its doors in the Netherlands to service the EMEA region. PALCO expanded its global reach again in 2014 in Juarez, Mexico, and Penang, Malaysia. Since 2018, PALCO has expanded its footprint in the United States and the APAC region to accommodate increased client demand.
PALCO is a Tier I diversity owned company as well as a national certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) by the U.S. Small Business Administration. PALCO is certified by the State of Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs Office of Minority Business Enterprise.
PALCO still embraces its OEM roots. Our engineering and repair capabilities are trusted by multiple Fortune 500 companies operating in the telecommunications, networking, data storage, and computing industries. With technical talent and expertise in process development honed by decades of conducting returns management for OEMs, we currently apply this to our data center services and retail businesses as well.
